Remember when we were in LA LA LAND recently? We were there for a wedding, but had some time to fit in Hannah and Aric’s engagement session. They took a road trip down from San Francisco for us, but good thing they have a Prius! We happily strolled around Laguna Beach and had a great time with these two. And we can’t forget about their cute little dog Maddie. Don’t you think they could be J.Crew models?

It’s been awhile since we posted a wedding, but we’re making it up by posting this absolutely fabulous wedding that we photographed in Dallas! Some wonderful elements… Lillian french braiding both the flower girls’ hair (how did she have time for that?), jars full of cookie making ingredients as favors, an emotionally touching reception, a funny series of the bouquet toss, and especially the exquisite reception dress designed by one of Lillian’s friends who designs for Nicole Miller.
Lillian and Brad, you are so delightful in every way!

Subject: Hello Hun & Grace!
We’re in the air right now, at an altitude of 36883 ft to be exact :-), heading over to SF. Just wanted to let you know that we were so lucky to have you guys with us on our wedding day. You guys not only care about capturing the moment and the beautiful pictures, you also care about the well being of us. We love you and had a lot of fun with you. We got a lot of compliments from our guests about how cool you guys are :-) Thank you for being there with/for us on our big day. I’m bummed out b/c we totally forgot to take a picture with you too :( I’ll try to remember next time. Alright, talk to you guys later.
Much luv,
Nhung & Ray

We’re truly humbled whenever we receive thank you cards and emails from clients, but it’s a first for us to receive one from up in the air. It’s touching messages like these that affirms the reason why we do what we do and keep our business chugging along. Nhung and Raymond, thanks for making our day, or rather, our month. :) Below is an image from their engagement session last year.

Happy Father’s Day to all you incredible fathers out there!

We’re currently in LA, one of our favorite places to visit, and we’ve been stuffing ourselves with awesome food in the company of awesome friends. We shot a fabulous engagement session in Laguna Beach which we can’t wait to share, and we’re getting ready for a wedding today at an estate made for fairy-tale weddings. For fun, below is a test action shot where I asked H to model for me. Too cute that I couldn’t resist posting.

Summer is almost here, and to help us get in the mood, here is some inspiration from a wedding that was blazing hot! With a festive feel with teals and reds, Sarah and Clay’s destination wedding was held in Tulum, Mexico.

If I never mentioned this before, I absolutely love my job! I can’t lie though, like any job, there are pros AND cons, but that’s besides the point. Not only do I get to be surrounded with people at their happiest and beautifullest*, I get the opportunity to meet so many different types of people and make good friends along the way.
Ambra is one of those good friends. In fact, she is one of my favorite people. Besides, how could I not like someone who gave me an ego-boost by telling me, “You are so gorgeous!” as I entered her bridal room on her own wedding day?! What kind of bride does that? ;) She is beautiful, intelligent, meticulous, thoughtful, and funny – yup, the whole package. She is responsible for perfectly capturing in words our personalities for the ABOUT sections of this blog and our main site. Her and her husband Andre also happen to be our most loyal clients. Now without further ado, some shots of this extraordinary woman…

*Disclaimer: I tend to make up my own words sometimes.
Our small group from church just completed Financial Peace University! We celebrated by spending an adventurous day together. We brainstormed different ideas and we didn’t do it on purpose, but it’s fitting that we ended up at the zoo because one of Dave Ramsey’s primary illustrations is to run like the gazelle.
Below are some animals that were kind enough to pose for me, my favorite being the giraffe.

Seven years ago today, my younger brother passed away after fighting cancer for two years. Even though I know he’s in a better place, I can’t help but be selfish and wish he were still here with us. I miss his smile. I miss his laughter. I miss his sense of humor. I miss his quirks. I miss the extraordinary way he cared so much for others. I miss his soothing singing. I miss his many facial expressions. I miss his generosity. I miss our Thai Iced Tea dates. I miss how he spoke gentle truth into people’s lives. I miss him now more than ever.
Having Steven Curtis Chapman’s “With Hope” on repeat was what helped me cope, and so I dedicate this post to anyone who has lost a loved one… live on… with hope.
